J. Kent McAfee has over 20 years of legal experience serving injured clients in Tarrant County and throughout the State of Texas in a variety of personal injury and wrongful death claim cases, including those involving car, truck and motorcycle accidents, as well as construction accidents. He has been associated with cases in other states where lawyers have contacted him for assistance in situations involving serious or catastrophic injury (such as brain or spinal cord injuries) to their clients.
Mr. McAfee graduated in the top third of his class from Cumberland School of Law at Sanford University in Birmingham, Alabama. While there, he was nominated for and awarded a scholarship endowed by an alumnus from the State of Tennessee. The scholarship was conditioned upon his return to the practice of law in Tennessee. In light of his desire to move to Texas to begin his law practice, the scholarship was declined. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee and pursued graduate studies at Memphis State University.
Mr. McAfee is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and in all state, district, and county courts. He has practiced law in Texas for his entire legal career, having established his practice in 1984. He is a member of the Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, State Bar of Texas, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, wherein he was an active member of the breast implant litigation group in the early 90's.
